We used BroBuilt to build our house and have been living in it for just over a year now.  We found that Kurt and Chris made the house building process easier and enjoyable for us.  We were kept in the loop each step of the way and found that the quality of work that was done was excellent.  We were able to watch the house being built and had more than sufficient access to see how our house was being built.  Kurt and Chris were very personable and knowledgeable and were able to offer advice when asked.   After being in the house for just over a year we are still very happy with the final outcome and happy that we chose to build with Bro-Built Homes!

This was our one and only experience building a new home and it was a fantastic experience all thanks to Kurt, Chris and of course Carly (for the interior design)! For the last 20 years, we owned a 600 sq ft three season cabin. Last summer we decided to build our retirement place and there was only one builder we had in mind – Bro-Built. We have seen their quality work at the lake and knew that we wanted them to build our lake house. From tearing down of the old place in September to being handed our keys to our new place in March, Kurt and Chris made sure we were in the know for every step of the process. Their knowledge, expertise, and craftsmanship gave us security and confidence that Bro-Built was the right choice. As we could not get out there that often to see the progress, Kurt was always in communication with us detailing the build, getting our opinions, and sending us pictures. It has now been a year since the build and we make sure we let people know how happy we are with our new place and the fantastic work that Kurt, Chris and their subcontractors have done.

For over two years we researched and spoke to multiple home builders trying to find quality, comfort and build a trusting relationship. This was not an easy task by any means!

We had a pretty specific vision of what we wanted for our cottage. The patience and expertise we found in Kurt and Chris was second to none! After initially meeting with Kurt, we left the meeting with new hope. We finally felt confident to move forward into our design, planning and budgeting. We really appreciated their quick replies to our many questions along the way too. From meeting our design needs and building a quality home, they were very knowledgeable, informative, and worked well in finding solutions to building issues that often come to light. They offered us flexibility and many innovative ideas that we often implemented during the build that we never thought of ourselves. Most importantly, they were always upfront about any possible cost over-runs that we may incur. The follow up and questions we’ve had post build as well has been fabulous as well!

We are so pleased and grateful for the beautiful home Kurt and Chris built for us. Our journey started last fall when we decided to build our dream home. From our first meeting with Kurt we felt comfortable we’d selected the right builder. A relationship with a builder is much like a partnership. In August 2002, we bought our Alberta Beach summer cottage with the hope that it would one day become our dream retirement home.
 
Fast forward to August 2014. We contacted Bro-Built and, within a few days, sat with Kurt in our cottage and asked a lot of questions about demolishing the cottage and building a house. We had no idea what was involved or what we were getting ourselves into. Kurt was patient, thorough and offered advice on the build and design.
 
We talked with Bro-Built’s references before we built. Their reputation with previous customers and within the building industry was first rate.
 
Over the year, Kurt answered our questions and guided us through our design plans. Bro-Built’s customer service was evident throughout this pre-build period, even though we did not have a confirmed start date.
 
In the spring of 2015, we asked Bro-Built to schedule the cottage demolition for September and wait to spring 2016 to start construction. Demolition took place as planned. Then April 4, 2016, excavation started and construction was underway.
 
At the time, building the house seemed overwhelming. There were so many decisions to make and so many questions, including details about home design and home finishings. Bro-Built connected us with a wonderful interior designer, Carly Zolmer.   Carly took the stress and guesswork out of making those decisions and advised us on function, style and colour. She accompanied us as we chose products and colours, and made the overall experience very enjoyable and memorable.
 
Kurt and Chris guided us step-by-step through the construction process and committed to a completion date of November 30, 2016.
 
Friends, family and colleagues warned us that our home likely would not be ready in November because builders are always late. We told them not to worry; Bro-Built handle their projects professionally and on-schedule!

My husband and I recently moved into our new house which was built by Bro-Built Homes and Contracting. We had been told by a few different people that “if you build a house you loose your spouse”. My wife and I recently bought an older house that required a little bit of fixing up. The house had all the original windows and because of that it was quite drafty in the winter. We contacted Bro-Built homes and gave them an idea as to what we were looking for, what we got in return was above and beyond anything we had expected. From the beginning of the renovations to the final installation of the windows Bro-Built homes was there to answer any questions that came up, stayed in regular contact with us to let us know what was going on and offered fantastic advice to help get the most out of our renovation. This was our first renovation and Bro-Built homes could not have made us feel any more comfortable in the choice that we made.

From the design phase, to the possession date of our lake house, Bro-Built Homes’ oversight of our project was greatly appreciated. Their responsiveness to our many questions showcased their ability to build not just homes, but client relationships. There is clear evidence of quality workmanship ‘beneath the walls’, and in the quality of the finishing work often exceeding minmal quality standards. Our frequent site visits seemed to be a welcomed distraction and an opportunity to show off the work in progress, rather than as an inconvenience. They are ‘hands on’ contractors – they hoisted hammers, installed decking, and hung siding themselves. They are both craftsmen and contractors, and they appear to work with sub-trades that demonstrate the same high standards that they have established. Winter was not an obstacle – allowing us to take possession on time in the spring.

Kurt and Chris truly do turn hand shakes into hugs, and we would recommend them to anyone considering building a new home or cottage.

We are in our new house and WOW. Kurt and Chris took our dream and made it a reality. They listened – gave advice – insisted on some stuff (thank goodness) and in return gave us a beautiful home.

Although young in years the “Boys” are extremely good at what they do. They are professional, experienced and most of all are completely involved in the whole construction process. When they were not doing the actual building themselves they were almost always on-site supervising and overseeing their sub-trades. At all times when we needed to speak to them they were available either in person or on the phone.
